The importance of temporary workers has never been fully recognised nor appreciated by successive government which has led to them to operate within a complex set of rules and regulations, never designed for them, and leading to extraordinary levels of uncertainty and ambiguity.

When we first adopted the Investors in People framework, it felt contrived but the penny soon dropped - it wasn't about the badge, it was about our culture - it didn't take us long after that to be recognised to the basic standard, and two years later achieved the prestigious gold standard, recently we were asked to become champions.
We have an engaged workforce who always go the extra mile to deliver great service. We have a winning culture which is constantly evolving and I am proud to say we are a learning organisation focused on continuous improvement and constantly raising our horizons. Our commitment goes further as we recognise great people need to be supported by a quality management systems and we chose to develop our sytems on the internationally recognised framework, ISI 9001:2008. We have an annual audit carried out by an independent UKAS approved provider, BM Trada, and as quality is embedded into our culture this is a process we enjoy.
Orange Genie is a privately owned company, the working Directors own the shares and they have a long term commitment to the industry and no reason to leave. There are no outside investors and no bank borrowings! The shareholders have taken no dividends out of the company and all profits are re-invested to improve existing service levels and to develop new services. We all enjoy coming to work and working to improve the industry, we have a great culture and after a lot of hard work we believe we are in a position to make a difference.
Our membership of the Freelancers and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) is important to us not because of the independent compliance review but it gives us a direct voice into government (Treasury, HMRC, BIS, DWP), industry bodies (REC, APSCo, TEAM) and other stakeholders. We are able to actively participate in shaping the future of the industry.
We are driven to achieve excellence by promoting of culture where problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership results in the ongoing improvement of our services. We provide contractors multiple routes to provide feedback, we empower staff to provide feedback and we commission specific research.
